Kemper was able to connect all of their terminal locations to the central office using the Internet and making the connection via VPN (Virtual Private Networking). A VPN connection provides a secure communication channel between the remote location and the central office, while using the Internet. This type of connection has allowed the terminals to enter inventory information and order request truck parts directly with the server at the central office.

The VPN connection has allowed the client to take advantage of their corporate email system. All of the client's locations can now communicate with each other via the mail server across the secure VPN connection. The connection has improved their ability to maintain inventory, process parts orders, and reduce their overall communication costs.
